2005: Ph.D. degree in “Biology and Ecology”, dissertation title: “Human satellite cell proliferation, differentiation and biomolecular characterization during elderly”.

 RESEARCH ACTIVITY:

Her research activity mainly focuses on:   1) the characterization and expression analysis of proteins during embryogenesis, myogenesis and immunoreaction.   2) production, molecular characterization and clinic employment of recombinant allergens.  3) the use of molecular markers (SSRs, AFLPs, SNPs) for the analysis of intraspecific biodiversity.  4) the analysis of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA sequence variation in order to shed light on human and animal origin, evolution and dispersal routes.

She authored and co-authored 23 papers on international high impact-factor journals.
She also authored and co-authored 48 conference proceedings submitted to national and international
congresses.
