GENERAL BACKGROUND
This workshop is the fourth of a series of workshops
associated with the activities of the Italian Astrobiology Society. The aim is
to bring together the national and international communities of astronomers, geologists, chemists
and biologists working in the fields related to the study of the origin of life,
prebiotic chemistry, astronomical sources of prebiotic molecules, life in
extreme habitats, search for life in other planets of our Solar System or
exoplanets. The purpose of these workshops is, therefore, to reduce the cultural
distances between these disciplines and to foster interdisciplinary
collaboration. International participation is encouraged.
The meeting follows the Third WG3 Workshop of the COST Action CM 0805 : The chemical cosmos, devoted this year to the chemistry of oxygen in planetary systems (click here for more details).
MAIN TOPICS
- Prebiotic chemistry
- Astronomical sources of prebiotic molecules

CONFERENCE SITE
The workshop will take place in the Room (Aula) G of the Department of Chemistry
of the University of Perugia. The Department of Chemistry is located in the
historic center of Perugia, close to the Medieval Aqueduct and the Etruscan
Arch. Perugia can be reached by train
(main connections from Florence or Rome), by plane (see the website of the local
San Francesco airport) and by car
